PROPAGANDA DADDY BOY :THE ENIGMA OF ARVIND KEJRIWAL: SCRUTINIZING ALLEGATIONS AND FOREIGN FUNDING.

Updated: Apr 26

Arvind Kejriwal’s political trajectory has been marked by remarkable ascendance and unrelenting controversy. From his early days as an income tax officer to his emergence as a crusader for transparency and governance, Kejriwal has cultivated an image of being an anti-corruption reformist. However, an analysis of his associations, foreign funding patterns, and the mysterious demise of his close aide, Santosh Koli, raises pertinent questions about the integrity of his political journey.

The Genesis: Parivartan and Questionable Registrations.

Kejriwal's activism began with the NGO Parivartan, which he co-founded with Manish Sisodia in Delhi’s Sunder Nagri area. Initially, Parivartan was declared as a registered entity under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, with tax exemptions under Section 80G and 12A of the Income Tax Act. However, in 2009, Kejriwal asserted that Parivartanwas neither an NGO nor a registered organization but merely a group of concerned individuals. This contradiction casts doubt over the legal standing and financial transparency of the entity.

Further scrutiny reveals that in 2002, while still a government servant, Kejriwal received an $80,000 grant from the Ford Foundation—an act that contravenes service regulations, as government employees are not permitted to establish or receive funds for NGOs without due permissions. This raises the fundamental question: why would an international foundation fund a local, little-known initiative in a small Delhi neighborhood?

The Web of Foreign Funding

Following Parivartan, Kejriwal and Sisodia established another NGO, Kabir, on August 15, 2005. However, financial records indicate that Kabir received a grant of $172,000 from the Ford Foundation on July 15, 2005—a full month before its official registration. This discrepancy points to potential premeditated financial arrangements, possibly facilitated through external interests.

The flow of foreign funds into Kabir continued over the years, including:

  • Ford Foundation: Rs 86,61,742

  • PRIA: Rs 2,37,035

  • Dutch Embassy: Rs 19,61,968

  • United Nations Development Programme: Rs 12,52,742

  • Association for India’s Development: Rs 15,00,000

  • India’s Friends Association: Rs 7,86,500

Notably, the Dutch route has often been associated with covert funding for subversive activities in different parts of the world, including Pakistan’s nuclear espionage and insurgency movements in India’s Northeast. The sheer magnitude and consistency of foreign funding directed towards Kejriwal and his affiliates necessitate deeper investigation into the political and strategic motives of these donors.

The Ford Foundation Connection and Magsaysay Award

Kejriwal was conferred the prestigious Magsaysay Award in 2006, a recognition funded predominantly by the Ford Foundation. Many previous Magsaysay laureates have been individuals aligned with geopolitical interests that indirectly serve Western objectives. Additionally, several of Kejriwal’s close associates, such as Admiral Ramdas and his daughter, have ties to organizations funded by the Ford Foundation and Open Society Foundation, both of which have been linked to influencing political narratives in developing nations.

The Mysterious Demise of Santosh Koli.

One of the most perplexing incidents in Kejriwal’s journey is the untimely demise of his close aide, Santosh Koli. On June 30, 2013, Koli was reportedly summoned to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) office, instructed to leave her scooter behind, and travel with her colleague, Kuldeep Panwar. Later that evening, she was hit by a car near Pacific Mall, Ghaziabad. Despite sustaining brain injuries, she fought for survival for over a month before succumbing on August 7, 2013.

Several irregularities surround her death:

  • No eyewitness accounts despite the accident occurring in a busy area.

  • The bike involved in the accident caught fire, destroying potential forensic evidence.

  • Kuldeep Panwar, who was riding with Koli, emerged unscathed.

  • Koli’s parents claimed she was reluctant to go but was compelled to attend the meeting.

  • No demand for a CBI investigation from Kejriwal, despite his history of agitations for lesser issues.

The silence surrounding this incident raises serious concerns regarding internal power struggles within AAP and potential external interferences.

Political Implications and the Road Ahead

The pattern of foreign funding, strategic NGO affiliations, and mysterious deaths within the ecosystem of Kejriwal's political rise indicate the presence of larger geopolitical influences. While AAP projects itself as a party committed to transparency and governance, the opacity surrounding its funding and the selective silence on key incidents necessitate independent scrutiny.

Kejriwal’s rise from an RTI activist to the Chief Minister of Delhi has been meteoric. However, given the complex interlinkages with global funding networks, the role of Western agencies in shaping his political narrative cannot be dismissed outright. A systematic probe into these connections would be in the interest of national security and democratic integrity.

Conclusion

Arvind Kejriwal's journey has been marked by remarkable public support but equally significant unanswered questions. The financial backing from foreign entities, inconsistencies in the registration and operation of NGOs, and the dubious circumstances surrounding the demise of Santosh Koli warrant closer scrutiny. As India continues to safeguard its sovereignty against external influences, it is imperative that transparency in political funding and NGO operations is upheld to prevent covert interventions that may impact national stability.
